Cooperation Agreement between the University of Algiers 1 and the Atomic Energy Commission
In an exceptional step that reflects its scientific leadership, the University of Algiers 1 and the Atomic Energy Commission have signed, today, a cooperation agreement to establish a unique and distinguished training program for Master’s degree students in the field of radiopharmacy, as well as to promote scientific research cooperation and offer students opportunities for field internship.
The Rector of the university, Professor Fares Mokhtari, stated that this new training program is a culmination of a strong and long-standing scientific partnership with the Atomic Energy Commission. It also opens new horizons for graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy to enter the field of nuclear medicine.
For his part, Mr. Abdelhamid Mellah, the Head of the Atomic Energy Commission, praised this step, confirming that it will contribute to providing the health sector with highly qualified national competencies to work in peaceful applications of nuclear energy. Professor Reda Djidjik, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, emphasized that students will receive a comprehensive theoretical and practical training in the fields of radiation and radiopharmaceuticals used for diagnosis and treatment. They will also undergo practical training in the Commission’s advanced facilities and benefit from its leading expertise in the field of healthcare.
