The Commemoration of the Demonstrations of 11 December 1960

On Monday, December 11, 2023, The University of Algiers 1 Benyoucef Benkhadda has
commemorated the anniversary of the demonstrations of 11 December 1960, which was an explicit
expression of the Algerian people’s rejection to any option other than the complete independence.
The demonstrations have significantly contributed to internationalizing the Algerian cause and
bringing more media coverage.
Under the supervision of the University Rector Pr. Fares Mokhtari and in the presence of the Vice-
Rectors, the moudjahid Kouar Kamal, the moudjahid Boukhacheba Kamal and his brother the
moudjahid Boukhacheba Abdelkader have provided their living testimonies about this historical
event.
