Cooperation agreement between the Ministries of Higher Education and Health and Elias Zarhouni

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Bedari, along with the Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, oversaw the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the sectors of higher education and scientific research and health, and Elias Zerhouni foundation regarding “AHSCEN” project as part of the Algerian electronic education network for health sciences. The launch of this electronic platform is part of the implementation of the second part of commitment 51 of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which aims to involve Algerian universities abroad. This platform will be an addition to the 58 existing platforms launched by the Ministry of Higher Education.

In his opening speech, Professor Fares Mokhtari affirmed that this initiative aims to establish the building blocks of electronic education and contribute to the reforms of the Ministry of Higher Education in the fields of education and training. The Minister of Higher Education, Professor Kamal Badari, welcomed the signing of the agreement, which will contribute to make a shift from traditional university to a modern fourth-generation one, connecting it to the World Wide Web, and sharing its programs with international universities. This is in line with the efforts of Professor Elias Zerhouni’s Platform to improve education in the field of medical sciences and modernize education and training, as well as the President’s program to build the new Algeria.

During the event, the Minister of Health, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi, also commended the conclusion of such agreements with the Ministry of Higher Education, and praised the continuous commitment of Professor Elias Zerhouni towards his country. He also affirmed that the agreement would promote openness to others and the use of technologies and videoconferencing, which will enhance the future of education in Algeria within a technological framework.

Professor Elias Zerhouni gave a speech expressing his gratitude for the adoption of this project, which is supported by his foundation, and provided a comprehensive presentation of the project’s plan, objectives, and contributors. The event concluded by distributing certificates of appreciation to all professors and researchers who worked on the platform, as well as a lecture by the professor on the opportunities and challenges of scientific research.
