UNDERGRADUATE  LEVEL

 

 

CURRICULUM OF STUDIES LEADING TO THE DIPLOMA OF DOCTOR IN MEDICINE 

Year One :

      Cytology, human physiology, genetics, embryology, general anatomy and anatomy of the members, general and organic chemistry, structural biochemistry, biophysical physiology, biostatistics, informatics, introduction to the  ethics of the profession.

     Structural chemistry, structural biochemistry, physics and biophysics, human physiology, cytology, general embryology, genetics,  biostatistics, informatics.

Year Two (Programme established as per Ministerial Decision of 31/10/2001 : the Pre-Clinical Cycle

      The loco motor system the peripheral nervous system.

Biophysics II, metabolic biochemistry, anatomy applied to medical imaging, histology and embryology (study of the various organs from the structural, functional, and embryological development perspectives), physiology.

      The cardio -vascular system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the urinary system, the central nervous system, nutrition and metabolism, the endocrine glands and reproduction.

 

Year Three : the Clinical Cycle

   Microbiology,  parasitological studies,  pharmacology, physio-pathology, pathological anatomy, radiology, immunology, semiology, bacteriology, virology.

 

Year Four:  

      Cardiology,  pneumo- phtysiology, bacteriology, infectious diseases, psychology, gynecology/obstetrics.

 

Year Five:

      Traumatology, urology, pediatrics, psychology, gynecology/ obstetrics, endocrinology.

 

Year Six :

       Ear, Nose and Throat,  ophthalmology,  dermatology, social medicine.

 

Year Seven: the Internship

      This year is devoted to 04 internships of 03 months each in the following fields : general medicine, surgery, gynecology/obstetrics, pediatrics.

      The four internships materialize in the submission of four final reports as part of the fulfilment of the requirements for the degree.

 

GRADUATE LEVEL

 

 

This  level  divides into two cycles :

  • The First Cycle involving training towards  the  Diploma of Specialized Medical Studies (DEMS). Duration of Studies : 04 to 05 years.

  • The Second Cycle  preparing to the Doctorate in Medical Sciences  (DESM). Duration of studies : 04 to 05 years.
