GENERAL CURRICULUM

I.   UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL

      In addition to the 1st year common core course in biomedical sciences, the curriculum for dental surgery (as per Ministerial Law No. 223 of 29 /11/1994), leading to the  Diploma of Dental Surgery is as follows :

1st Year :

       Embryology,  general and mineral chemistry, cellular biology, statistics, physics, structural biochemistry, general histology, organic biology, cellular biology , genetics, biophysics, metabolic biochemistry, language I, language II.

2^nd Year :

     Prosthesis,  odontological maintenance,  general and  dental anatomy, bacteriology, physiology, histology, biomaterials, immuno-parasitology,  buccal-dental pathology, parodontology, dental-facial orthopedics.

3^rd  Year :

     Prosthesis, bucco-dental pathology, parodontology, maintenance (0C) , dental-facial odontology (ODF), anatomy-pathology,  pharmacology, anaesthesia  studies, radiology.

4^th Year :

     Prothesis, conservative odontology, dental- buccal odontology (PDB), parodontology, dental-facial orthopedics, medical pathology,forensic ethics, specific parodontology/odontology (OPS).

5^th Year: Internship

      Specific parodontology-ontology (OPS), maintenance odontology (OC) prothesis,       

pathology, parodontology,  dental-facial odontology (ODF), forensic odontology and ethics,  in-service training.

Graduate studies involve two cycles:

• The First Cycle, providing training towards the  Degree of Specialized Medical Studies (« DEMS »): Duration of studies: 04 to 05 years ;

• The Second Cycle, providing training towards the Doctorate in Medical Sciences Duration of studies. 04 to 05 years.
