Registration Requirements :

Among terms set  for enrolment, the candidate should hold a Baccalauréat degree  in one of the following specialties:

  • Islamic letters and  sciences;

  • letters and humanities;

  • natural sciences and biology;

  • exact sciences ;

  • management and economy ;

  • technology ;

  • civil engineering ;

  • mechanical engineering ;

  • electrical engineering.

This  Faculty includes  three departments :

  • the Department of Shari’a and Law;

  • the Department  Creeds and   Religions;

  • the  Department  of language and culture.

 

THE UNDERGRADUATE CURRICULUM :

       Training Programme leading to the  Licence in Islamic Sciences Degree

      During each of the four years of study and in addition to the subjects covered yearly, students are required to take courses in Arabic and in a foreign language as well as courses involving the learning and recitation of the Holy Quran ; modules on the foundations of Fiqh are also taught on a yearly basis during the first three years.

      The first year is a Core  Course year while the 2nd , 3rd and 4th years are years of specialization, where the student is to join the  relevant department.

 

THE CORE CURRICULUM :

      This curriculum consists of :

     Quranic sciences , Hadith sciences , the Islamic creed, the history of Islam, fiqh as it relates to worship and Sira,  the principles of logic,  research methodology.

 

THE GRADUATE SCHOOL

The Graduate School  of this Faculty includes a First Cycle training towards the Magister Degree and a Second Cycle  involving Doctoral studies , both embracing a wide variety of topics.

THE UNIVERSITY OF ALGIERS… ITS ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURINGS ALONG THE YEARS

 

The University of Algiers experienced its first division in 1967, when its Oran Extension was raised to the level of a university. A second division took place in 1968, when the Constantine Extension was promoted as a University.
